Climate Justice, digital media, and gender
Professor Frances
The reading "From Banks and Tanks to Cooperation and Caring" explores the economy we live in, in which our ways of making money is by using and wasting our natural environment, extractive, instead of working along side our environment, regenerative. Our community is constantly taking away from our Environment, without giving back. This way the community is running now creates excessive amounts of carbon, and other gases which causes global warming, which negatively affects our environment. This article wants us to change the way we live and treat our environment, in order for us to have a healthy ECO system as well as a healthy lifestyle. The article "When I think of the Earth" it's a female writing who is talking about how similar her body is to the earth. It feels as though she is a female living in a foreign country who has been, touched, abused, etc by men. This is a powerful piece of work about a young girl who is doubting even now rather she was right to hate it or rather they were right to do it.
I really enjoyed reading these two articles. The first article had me thinking more about our environment and how if we don"t stop what we are doing now it can really hurt us. We don't think about the things we are doing to our environment or rather we ignore it which is worse. The second article was really important to me as well because it shows our our young children feels about sexual assault, if that is what she is referring to. And it really hurts me to read the fact that even now as an adult she doesn't know who was in the wrong. I feel that she is a really powerful women to be able to write this and I love it.
Ecological Restoration- the process of assisting the recovery of an ecosystem that has been degraded, damaged, or destroyed.
Contradictions- a combination of statements, ideas, or features of a situation that are opposed to one another.
Exploitation- the action or fact of treating someone unfairly in order to benefit from their work.
