FGR-Climate Justice
The film Disruption by Jared P. Scott provides an explanation on the causes of climate change. While also addressing the attempts to reduce human impact through our government leaders. The film was published September 7,2014; the film is also 52 minutes long. The film can be labeled as a documentary. This movie focuses on the power of the people as an important life changing tool. The movie brings in a wide range of opinions;backed by credible sources which strengthens their arguments. The movie goes behind the scenes of what looks like to be a template for future protests at United Nations climate summits.
The whole plot of the documentary is that we’re the first generation to feel the harshe consequences of climate change. While also taking presheer because their the last generation that can do something about it.The main question being asked is “ Why do we do so little when we know so much?. The film tries to find the answer, through terrifying science, the relentless industry special interests, and the broken political process. The film opens with major historic moments. The film focuses mostly on history facts and giving a image to them. It's basically documenting climate change and the history behind it.
The Filmmaker's point is valid and his purpose of documenting the history. On the other had it focuses mainly on the history not the directv affect. The uses of the early music in the background and the experts help give off the fact that it's important. The way in which everything was filmed was very effective from me because it covers what's now not really being discussed but censored now.The strength of the film is the imagery and the structure but if the film wasn't so political focused i would of connected more with it.My overall feelings towards the film is that it's great for awareness and showing people the history and the strength of community.I really did find the film interesting because a lot of the information i didn't know like the March or gathering( the anti-nuclear demonstration) for climate change i didn’t know a lot of people were so invested for the cause. For me i would recommend it because it gives a more detailed description of chilate change then given in schools.
In conclusion, the film is basically saying the dangers from climate change are becoming more evident and it will be only a matter of time before we reach a tipping point. The warnings are intensifying and something needs to be done by our government leaders to stop this disruption and restore the balance of the world's climate. I would give the film an C . The reason being is that the film is educational and helps give historic context to climate change and the efforts put in to stop it but not everyone can relate to it and not everyone cares enough to look back at the history behind these climate change organizations and efforts.
