JSU Trip
At the beginning of the semester fourteen students, myself included, went on a trip to Jackson State University for a program called IMAGE. We learned about the meteorology program and discovered that there aren't many African American citizens in our country in this industry. We took a tour around their campus, visiting the library, saw the pavilion, and got to even eat some Chick-Fil-A. After the tour, they taught us a little about how natural disasters are tracked, what to do when a natural disaster strikes the area you live in, and we released a weather tracking device into the sky. It was an enjoyable trip, and left a great impression of the school on my whole class. One of the students even applied to their college.
