I am listening to Raheem Devaughn's Think 100% Ep 2: Uniting Our Power for Positive Change. This episode of the podcast generally takes about us as banding together so that we can make a better change and help climate change. It starts by talking about why they do this show in which he states that "why we do this show because climate change is real." He talks about the lack of housing and the rise in suicide. They talk about the water pollution in Flint, Misigon and how the people are trying to fight for clean water. There is a guest speaker, Kerry Browner, where she talks about how they set the first ever carbon pollution standard, Lisa Jackson, and fuel efficency standards, Raylah Hood. They talk about how the proggressive movements are pretty male heavy meaning there are more males leadin this movement then women. They talk about why it is very important for women to have a wider voice in the movement. They say vote for people who say climate change is real. This means vote for someone who acknowledge climate change and not ignore it. This podcast wants us to get together and bring climate change to an end.
I really enjoyed listening to this podcast. It taught me the things that are currently going on in the environmental justice community. It also acknowledge the problems in the community dealing with gender and leaders. I wasn’t aware of the standards being placed right now so it’s good to know that we are starting to do something about this climate change. I still don’t understand why politicians and other higher people aren’t acknowledging it when it will surely affect them in the very near future.
