The reading “Ghostbusters in Environmentalism: Black Women (Re)Shaping Environmental Justice” is about the apprasal of black women in the environmental justice community. The article states, "Taylor also shows that marginalized folk that are involved in the environmental workforce rarely hold positions of authority in their organizations"(Dicaprio 2018). This statement exclaims how minorities who are involved in these groups aren't usually at the "top" of these community. Which is also another reason why people of color rarely have a face when it comes to environmental justice groups. This article talks about of the environmental justice community mainly focuses on painting a picture of a white environmentalist, while leaving the minorities out of it. The article "The State of Diversity in Environmental Organizations: Green 2.0 Report" also talks about diversity in the environmentalist organizations. This article talks about the study that was found in which it says, "Men are still more likely than females to occupy the most powerful positions in environmental organizations" (Taylor 2014). This statement shows that we see men as a higher power the women, which it shows that while women are gaining acknowledgement, men are still seen as higher.

I really enjoyed reading these articles. They were very informative on the recent activities dealing with diversity going on in the environmental justice community. I believe that us minorities should continue and grow as a community to gain more acknowledgment in this community. Also I believe that women should become more powerful in these communities and become a face of leaders. So that people would know that we are actually part of these communities.
