I will like to share some of my experiences and good memories I got from my fill trip to Jackson states university. I will start by saying wow!!! the university is big and got a lot of buildings, and is so nice and the students there are so nice too. This experiences for me personally was really helpful because I used to because after the fill trip I feel more conferences about college and why I said it was really helpful because there was a fear inside me and I was terrified of college why because I never got the type of guide or someone telling or helping me about college and how is going to be there, and for me the one was an object the now I feel more conferences but not a 100% but definitely I'm ready for college. Another real big impact the I got from such amazing experiences about how natural disasters impact climate changes, and what people are in the field and what they do and what their job is about it was really fun, and get the chances to ask what was the alumnus experiences and I honestly can't describe it because it was so incredibly good but If I could describe it in short phrases it was an experience then I would definitely try again in the future.
Climate change
The article 'Internet Blogs, Polar Bears, and Climate Change Denial by Proxy' is mainly focused on the issue that the melting sea-ice is affecting the population of the Polar Bear tremendously.the surfaces temperature is rising more and the artic is melt by the highest temperature but that's not only ways that its impacting , it’s causing problems for places like the antarctic.
The article 'Global Environmental Change' talks about how most of the deniers are white males and how they go against climate change being a real thing.Maybe white males see less risk in the world because they create, manage, control, and benefit from so much of it.Or possibly women , and nonwhite men see the world as more dangerous because in many ways they are more vulnerable.
In my opinion the stories was okay. Both texts explain specific issues they are happening it and they letting know how or what is out there. There is not a lot hope to fix global warming. If the essays weren’t so focused on white males it would have a better impact.I just think they articles weren’t really relatable.

Field Trip
On the trip we talked about the JSU I.M.A.G.E which is a meteorologist program. The program is responsible for over 100 graduates, roughly 1/4 of all African Americans with meteorology degrees etc. The programs demographic was 54% male and 46% female between 2017-2018. The program was a new effort to mentor scholars in communication, involvement and professional development. We also discussed the NWS about what they do and the effects of tornadoes. We also saw an some of use participated in a balloon release. This trip related to climate justice and environmental careers, because while learning about weather and tracking it your also trying to make sure you warn the community about possible dangers form climate change.

Global Change
The article 'Internet Blogs, Polar Bears, and Climate Change Denial by Proxy' is mainly focused on the issue that the melting sea-ice is affecting the population of the Polar Bear tremendously. It's also talking about how people often deny the fact that climate change is real and most deniers continuously makes countless excuses. The article 'Global Environmental Change' talks about how most of the deniers are white males and how they go against climate change being a real thing. They are the ones who deny it because they are the ones who it least affect and the ones who profit off the way our society is ran. Essentially white males have the most power in the U.S.
In my opinion the stories was okay but it wasn't as interesting as the other two stories. But in contrast with that I love how both articles recognizes how they are deniers and what they say in order to justify their act. Overall the articles was pretty boring but I still had to read it or else I would get my butt whopped. I truly hope that in the future you provide better/ interesting stories. If the stories aren't interesting the they should be shorter.

Both of these articles express how Global warming impact not only humans but also the environment, and animals in both articles the main object we the audiences can see or predict is denial there are many groups they don't believe in such thing as Global warning.
In the article Cool dude:" The denial of climate change among conservative white males in the United States" the main object in this article is to expose something alerting and dangerous, conservative white males don't believe there is such a thing as Global warning, well when I read this one question the always stood in my head was What is their reason of conservative white male don't believe or refuses to say is true? well this may be why they act like that and they are the only group because not even feminist neither none white Americans they feel above because of they white and got "power" but is ignorant because how are you going to not acknowledge something is happening to our planet I find this quote in the article "The denial of climate change among conservative white mate s in the united states".Perhaps white males see less risk in the world because they create, manage, control, and benefit from so much of it.perhaps women , and nonwhite men see the world as more dangerous because in many ways they are more vulnerable, because they benefit less from many of its technologies and institutions, and because they have less power and control" conservative white male may think like that because they don't have to be scared or neither believe on that and also because they on top and have power.
In the article Internet Blogs, polar bears, and climate-change denial by proxy. so basically in this article is the same objects we need to get but with the different situation, the surfaces temperature is rising more and the artic is melt by the highest temperature but that' s not all the way that is impacting a place like antarctic where many animals are in danger because of the drastic change in the environment but a may animal or issues in this article is to see what is situation with polar bears, and in the article is something to back me up with my response in the article Internet Blogs... is a quote the focus an issue with polar bears the can affect them " The fundamental relationship between polar-bears welfare and sea-ice availability is well established, and unmitigated AGW assures that all polar bears ultimately will be negatively affected" at this point I'm shocked because both or this articles mention the man kinda has nothing to do with all these environmental issues we know we only try to be nice and forget. what I like about these articles was they both explain specific issues they are happening it and they letting know how or what is out there thinking are the world is fine but in reality is not.
Hierarchicalism- the process or policy of organising as a hierarchy
Egalitarianism- the political doctrine that holds that all people in a society should have equal rights from birth
Individualism- Individualism is defined as the distinctive qualities that make you who you are, or self-reliance, or a political system that focuses on each per.
Recape of Jackson State trip
The field trip was very fun along with very informational. They gave us a good insight on what it means as well as what it looks like to be a meteorologist. We went through an info in which we were schooled on the background of JSU's meteorologist program and how they are very cultural and community based. From my understanding they help you through college and within the field of meteorology they are able to provide an immediate job straight out of college at the NWS. According to the info session "1/3 of black meteorologists employed by the NWS graduated from JSU." This shows that they are invested in our future and there to support us and insure prosperity.
Climate change: Acknowledgement and Accoutability
“Internet Blogs, Polar Bears, and Climate-Change Denial by Proxy” explores the methods of persuasion and beliefs that are held by anthropogenic global warming deniers. The article states, that out of all of the research and work done by scientists on climate change, much of the public still denies the effects of it and the role humans played in it. Science- deniers use the media as a way to spout their disbelief of AGW (anthropogenic global warming). According to the article,“...media outlets consistently misrepresent our fundamental understanding of AGW.” The deniers, including politicians, use social outlasts such as Twitter, Facebook, and blogs to share personal beliefs and opinions on the matter. There are a large number of denier blogs that hold great influence, having no real tangible evidence for their cause, they resort to personally attacking scientists, remove key information from scientific blogs to strengthen their argument, and focus on observations taken out of context. Even going as far to say that climate change has not affected Arctic-sea ice or polar bears, gathering evidence from one unreliable source, a woman named Susan Crockford. The text says that Crockford has not “conducted any original research nor published any articles in the peer- reviewed literature…” she, like many of her supporters rely on conservative thinking and misinterpreted scientific research to advocate their cause. Despite
the evidence of AGW’s effects, deniers still remain steadfast in their beliefs.
I was shocked at the fact that there are still people who adamantly deny the effects of human interaction on global warming and the Earth. Going so far to discredit years of research and reliable evidence, exhibits a concerning level of childishness and lack of accountability.Deniers further undermine themselves by blatantly taking the research of scientists out of context, manipulating and editing it to benefit their stance. It is scary that people who value personal beliefs over proven scientific facts have such a great influence on the beliefs of others. There is not much hope to address and fix global warming if there are still a large number of be who relentlessly deny the existence of it and their contributions to it.

In "Internet Blogs, Polar Bears, and Climate-Change Denial by Proxy", the points that the because of the surface temperatures it caused global warming. The author events presents a chart that states that based on science-based blogs, artic ice extent is declining, which means that polar bears are most likely to be threatened by AGW(anthropogenic global warming). In "Cool dudes: The denial of climate change among conservative white males in the United States", the author discusses how conservative white males contributes significantly to the high level of climate change in the US. In the essay the author explains 5 different texts about the reserarch of white men being tied to global warming. The author ties up a lot of important data by using data to back it up.
I don't really have any emotion or feeling toward these essays. I pretty much understand what the essay is talking about, but it doesn't neccessarily resignate with me. Maybe because I am not a conservative white male. I think I will only feel some typr of way toward the essay if it had a real impact on me. For example, if maybe the essay was saying that black african american females in the US contribute to the case of global warming, then I will have a opinon, because I am a black female in the Us.

Climate change
Climate change has been denied by many public figures. Particularly, politicians have went against scientist and have misrepresented climate change due to a political agenda. Cool dudes: The denial of Climate Change Among Conservative white Males in the United States by Aaron McCright and Internet Blogs, Polar Bears, and Climate-Change Denial by Proxy both show how people had been led astray by the the Internet and other social medias. In Cool dudes: The denial of Climate Change Among Conservative white Males in the United States, McCright discusses how American adults more specifically white men don’t believe in climate change. In Internet Blogs, Polar Bears, and Climate-Change Denial they say that internet and social media have impacted people's views about the social issue.
I believe that climate change is real and in full effect. People such as Trump have denied Climate change only because it would take away from their industries. I believe that if people really care and actually want to do something then we have to start now. Learning about this change and being more aware would help a lot more people. I relate more to Internet Blogs, Polar Bears, and Climate-Change Denial because there is inaccurate information given everyday by blogs or someone who wants to guide us wrong for their personal interest.

#FieldTripToJacksonMississippi
What I learned at the field trip was that their are not that many black american female meterologist. What I did on the trip was learn about how tornados are formed and how meterologist watch them and warn us for them. I learned that a tornado watch and a tornado warning are 2 totally different things. A watch means we need to watch out for one that might be hitting and a warning means that it actually is occuring and we need to take cover. What I liked is the demonstration on how tornados was formed and what I disliked was how their are not many african american females working in the meterologist field. What I learned relates to climate justice or environmental careers, because meterologist delas with the climate and the way that theor jobs opperate it helps out with our community in a lot of wonderful ways.

Rising Currents Stronger Movements vs. Banks and Tanks
From my interpretation Rising Currents Stronger Movement is solely around the fact that different encounters we have with climate change can impact our life tremendously. Thokozani Amanda Chimasula the author of When Climate Change Dehumanizes A Young Girl stated that "the climate change situation made it difficult for me. It led to food insecurity which forced me to marry when I was young."Her life choices was basically limited of freedom due to the fact they were altered by the effects of climate change. She was forced to marry a man at a very young age this choice ruined her life. From Banks and Tanks To Cooperation and Caring on the other hand has more specific details and data on Just Transitions, Pillar of Economy and etc...It gives you tools in order to counter act these issues. These two articles are similar because they both explain the effects of environmental issues but one is more of personal stories.
In my opinion these readings was okay. I wouldn't nessicarly say that I liked the because I was really interested in them. I truly don't care what you give us to read, I just know that it will get read because it evolves a grade and I refuse to fail a class just because I didn't do it. Maybe you can give us more appealing text but still be on content. Overall this homework is not that bad.
Enclosure: Violently transforming from a common to a private property.
Bioregionalism: An approach on different environmental issues.
Decentralize: A switch from central to local government.

Beating the Odds
The feeding “Rising Currents Stronger Movements”, presents the stories of several young women who are activist against climate and environmental injustice or women who's lives were affected as a result of climate change. The zine explore the realities of marginalized women and how feminism and climate justice meet.Among the stories is a narrative of a woman named Sally Souraya from Lebanon came to be a passionate climate activist despite how much those around her tried to enforce traditional gender roles upon her and tried to make her feel that her work was pointless. There were several stories of young women having to walk for miles to collect water and still have to return and do other strenuous chores as a result of unfair gender roles and climate change affecting their water sources. "From Banks And Tanks To Cooperation And Caring" is a framework focused on working towards an eco-friendly and just economy. In the booklet discusses a "strategic frame work for a just transition" and introduces the idea of a justice that does not put people above nature. The strategies include trading a extractive economy for a regenerative economy, a more sustainable and fair economy.
Both reading were very interesting and discussed two very similar, but different topics. "Rising Currents Stronger Movements" opened a new understanding of how climate change affects marginalized groups and young women in particular. The zine shed light on the forgotten activist and gave representation to minorities within the climate justice and feminist movements. It was very inspiring to read about young women defying the odds and pursuing their interests and the interest of the environment despite the discouraging people and situations they were exposed to. It revealed a connection between feminism and climate change that I did not believe existed. The reading, "From Banks And Tanks To Cooperation And Caring"laid out a very logical and thought out concept of how the economy could be shifted. I was very impressed by the connections that were made between social issues and the economic function. However, reading this made me question whether we have the will power or capacity to take these steps to improve the environment and economy.

Project and Rising Currents Stronger Movements are two strong and outspoken magazines.
Rising Currents Stronger Movements is a collection of articles from young women who are
the face for change and the example for women trying to make a difference. From Banks
and Tanks to Cooperation and Caring is an article about power and energy being dispersed
equitably. While it is clear that gender has had a significant role in bias, From Banks and
Tanks to Cooperation and Caring shows the belief that distribution from an economic
stance is the route of inequality. Rising Currents Stronger Movements is a more personalized
article.

I relate more to Rising Currents Stronger Movements because similarly I believe race and gender
affect the outcome of people's lives and from first hand experience some of the issues written
about in the collection of articles is similar to mines. The part that interests me most in Rising
Currents Stronger Movements is the article by Aneesa Khan. Similarly to Khan I am more of a
visual learner and I love art. Her depiction of climate injustice through art and a comic strip was
different and well-written. I believe that it will take a new way of fighting for what we believe in
to actually cause change. Unlike Rising Currents Stronger Movements, From Banks and Tanks to
Cooperation and Caring wasn't as familiar which caused a lack of interest.

Cooperation and Inclusion
Environmental injustices occur everywhere, in some areas on a smaller scale than others. It's no lie that our streets, our communities, and our ecosystems are being flooded with trash and pollution. Though how can we combat this? Because of two separate readings, Rising Currents Stronger Movements and From Banks and Tanks to Cooperation and Caring I came to the conclusion that two important pieces to the puzzle of problem solving are needed to help fix own mistakes. Rising Currents Stronger Movements addressed the issue of Inclusion, young minority women across the globe struggle everyday to be recognized for their help in trying to help our environment; however they are not taken seriously and left out of important discussions and decisions. How can we expect anything to change if we do not embrace and include all people? Additionally, From Banks and Tanks to Cooperation and Caring led me to the realization that our society heavily relies on the government and politics to get anything accomplished. We as a people need to stop allowing disasters into our political offices and elect officials who truly have the good of our countries at heart. Believe it or not, the men and women sitting behind desks and passing bills all day have more power than it seems when it comes to helping to create a fair and healthy society.
I enjoyed the piece about young minority women much more than the other one. It was nice to hear the stories of young people who aspire to be somebody who positively effects their environment. Being a young minority woman myself it's encouraging and I completely support and uplift those young ladies who've had rough childhoods and lives. The piece also helped me understand that, yes though America isn't perfect, we are better off, as women, than women in other countries. Knowing that others don't have as easy as a life as me makes me appreciate more what I do and don't have.

Pushing Through Adversities
In the article "Rising Currents Stronger Movements" many of the accounts had a major point in common; they each are fighting against things they have to deal with in everyday life. This varied from having to deal with droughts and leaked emissions to being dehumanized and ignored because of your gender or age. However, the majority of these accounts took place in the global south or "Third world countries", and a major problem for them was how climate change drastically effected the women of their society. So these women sat out to make a difference. In the 6th account, Ivy Kimtai | Kenya, stated "I did not choose to be a feminist, feminism chose me." Many of these people automatically had to gravitate towards these movements because of their dire conditions caused by both environmental and gender inequalities. The article "From Banks and Tanks to Cooperation and Caring" is designed as a toolbox or a guide. It develops a path way for those who are low-income communities or colored communities. It helps them transition properly from poor condition communities to health ones. One of the opening quotes state "Transition is inevitable. Justice is not." Transitions will always happen; they cant be stopped. However this quote shows that this article push for, not only a transition, but, a "Just Transition".
These two articles had a very strong impact on me as a young African American male. Being young individual the 5th account in "Rising Currents Stronger Movements", Sam Klein | California / Hong Kong, hit close to me. Just like him in this account I'm faced by people with thoughts of just being a young individual who don't know what I'm talking about or having my ideas "disparaged". However I feel that the many accounts on the feminist movement intertwined with environmental movements hit hardest. Even though I am a male in America I was physically hurt by what I read. I grew up with my single mom and multiple sisters. I constantly saw how my mother suffered to take care of us. So when reading these accounts of much worst situations I'm saddened. However, I'm also proud that some are taking the cards they've been dealt and their fighting. Also in "From Banks and Tanks to Cooperation and Caring", it shows that their are some people who are actually trying to help. This guide is not only blueprints for those in need but it's also a huge source of hope. "We are guilty as charged and we have refused to undertake the sentence given to rectify our habits. Where is the justice for the environment? We remain environmentally corrupt," 7th account in "Rising Currents Stronger Movements" Young Fem 2. Its the people in both of these articles that are directly trying to rectify our wrongs and get justice for our environment.

Power in feminist
The "Rising currents stronger movement" is an article with different historic views of young feminists. The women felt as though climate change is what made them go through pain and struggle. The women discuss how they changed that exact pain and struggle into an opportunity to help others.Gender play a huge role in environmental justice/injustice.Women are majorly looked over and are just seem as housewives and it's not right."From banks and tanks to cooperation and caring" it discusses low-income communities and colored peoples leading movements for change.
I honestly found this interesting that things were so bad for women when it came to the environment and feminist period. As a female I feel as though females should not be seen as housewives. We are more than a mother and a cook and it's not fair that we get treated as if men are superior. In all honesty women should be above men because of how much women do in the world.I also think that climate change is an issue that should be discussed more but not many people think or know too much about the issue.
Feminists are power
Rising currents Stronger Movements is an article with multiple histories of young feminists the pass for so much struggle and how they change their pain and struggle into an opportunity to help others woman and to make their voices be heard by society. one of the many stories was for "Thokorani Amanda Chimasula " she is a survivor the pass for a lot when she was only a child, 10 years old a pretty young age for a girl. Girl the lost both her parents and have to assume the responsibility of 6 younger siblings. A girl herself have to deal and think how to sustain her siblings give her only an option get married, with a man the could sustain her and siblings, at the age of 11 she already was married still an innocent girl the have to sacrifice her self to make sure her siblings were able to survivable and to know she was living hell and the only way to get out was by killing her self.
but she didn't only because of her babies and if she died her children would face the same suffering life her mother has vivid, to make a change in her children futures. woman and feminists are power to influent in others lives to speak up and know there are not alone and there is the help they need and how cultural, religious, economic, gender affected most of the anyone women in many aspects of life and more if they are single mothers.
About this passage, I found it really interesting because I knew about activist and feminists but never thought it was such a huge thing around the world and how people are affecting. something else the I love about this passage was the different stories, and how they all were connecting to either there struggle when they were kids, or take them less because of there gender "you don't know anything this is referring by the sam Klein text ", or discrimination many things we are not aware of and yet they are right in front of our faces the problem is something of our concert because just think if that happens to someone close to you like sisters, or mother, cousins someone you care about and this activists try to make the changes and protect others or prevent something like discrimination happen to people you love, these passages were really important and informative to me because it gave me living experiences of their cases and never gave up to tell their experiences so if you don't know what is a feminist activist go check and learn more about what they do and who they can help, and who you can help.

#EnvironmentalRacismMatters
The rising currents stronger movements is technically a big booklet of feminist who felt as thougb climate change is what made them go through their struggles. It is what made them want to be a climate activist. Gender played a huge role in the environmental racism category. Females were overlooked and the jons that they chose to was looked at as not really important, despite the time spent learning this food. Females are seen as houewives. Having children and cooking, but that is not fair. In the booklet "From Banks and Tanks To Cooperation And Caring" it is discussing low- income communities that are leading movements and movements led by people of color. It's helping us/ giving us tips on how to lead a movement successfully and things that we should think about when doing so.
I don't have much opinion about the movemnets, but I am very angered aboutythe discrimation of gender. As a female myself, I feel as though females should not be seen as housewives. We are more than a mother and a cook and it' not fair that we get treated as if we are below men. We birth these men, so why is it that they are seen as more superior than us. I also think that many people dosen't think that cimate change is a issue that is worth talking about and that is why it is barely discussed, but I feel as though it is very important and people should talk about it more.
