Current Event Presentation

I did my current event presentation on an article discussing environmental racism in Louisiana. It focused on how the government discriminates against black people versus white. They built bridges in black communities, decreasing the job opportunities and also getting rid of trees. The same proposal of building bridges in the white community happened, but because it was a white community and they said they didn't want it, they did not get it. The black community voiced their opinion as well, but still, it was given to them. Everyone felt as though Entergy's reliability issue wasn't because of their lack of power, but simply because of their distribution failures. I liked this article because it gave me the hidden truth behind the bridges being built. I would recommend this to other people so that they can discover how corrupt our society actually is when it comes to race.

environmental justice- fair treatment regardless of their physical features, such as race, income, sexuality, etc. when it comes to environmental regulations.
